Single axle models are least expensive and are good in very tight locations and work well in a warehouse or wherever you do not have to go a long distance or over rough terrain.  

Dual axle models are easier to tip back and they balance when tilted back so they are great for moving rides longer distances.  Dual axle models are more stable on rough terrain.

2, 4 or 6 wheels???  Models with 4 wheels on the front axle are wider (33") and are more stable on rough terrain.  They also can carry more weight, and spread the weight out over a larger area so they do not sink into soft ground.  The six wheel models (4 wheels on front axle, 2 on back axle) are perfect for water slides where the ride is heavy and the ground is wet & soggy.
